Gurus?

Many so-called mystical sects have recieved a justified bad press over the past several decades and the question of profiteering gurus is a good one, and one that every sincere seeker should ask of any organisation offering esoteric knowledge.

The Rosicrucians have no gurus.  The more advanced students often act as teachers as in any body of knowledge, and may even take on the role of field officers to assist in the organisation of local member groups. However, the teachings are vested in the Order itself and no single individual has control of their use or alteration.  The Order is headed by a board of directors and there is a single chief officer, called the Imperator. Each geographic or language-based territory has its own Grand Master who is responsible for the material welfare and esoteric delivery of the teachings. He or she is also responsible for the activities of local affiliated bodies.

The Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, is a not-for-profit organisation.  The only charges made to members are those to cover the costs of running the Order and are typically less expensive than the cost of a family restaurant meal each month.
