In centuries past the Rosicrucians had to be secretive but were never a secret society. In an age where anyone not following orthodox religion was likely to be ostracised at best, or tortured and killed at worst; the Rosicrucians had to practise their teachings with great care. The whole purpose of such secrecy, however, was to perpetuate the wonderful and life-enhancing knowledge of which they were one of the world’s custodians. The Order has, throughout history, been an open organisation which has always welcomed sincere men and women of all races and creeds. The Rosicrucians are not, and have never been, a political body. Members are free to pursue their own political views but these are not discussed at Rosicrucian meetings.
Today, we live in a more tolerant age, though that too has its drawbacks in that few people take anything seriously. The Rosicrucian teachings offer a path of esoteric knowledge without secrecy, though it should always be remembered that this body of knowledge and proven method comes to us through history from those who had to be ready to give their lives to protect its existence.
AMORC, The Ancient and Mystical Order Rosae Crucis, is an open and welcoming organisation. Its teachings are available to men and women of any background or ethnic group. All we ask is sincerity and that you have, or are willing to consider, a belief that the universe is a creative entity pulsing with life, purpose and potential.
